About Megan (she/they)

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. As a doula, I am committed to providing safe and healing spaces for people during their pregnancy and postpartum times. In addition to birth and postpartum doula care, I also provide education, comfort, and support to those experiencing pregnancy loss.

I first felt called to birthwork after my partner and I experienced a traumatic birth and postpartum experience with our first child. With our second baby, we intentionally chose an amazingly supportive birth team, including (unintentionally!) two doulas who provided a healing and peaceful environment. This experience, which was so radically different from my first birth, ultimately pulled me into becoming a doula.

Before becoming a doula, I was a health sciences librarian and information scientist, collaborating with healthcare workers and medical students on evidence-based research projects. I completed birth doula and lactation & feeding support training through DONA in 2018.

I am a 500-hour certified teacher and student of yoga and Ayurveda. I hold additional certifications in prenatal, yin, restorative, and chair yoga, and I am a certified Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner.

I love to bring my background as an information scientist, yoga instructor, and bodyworker into my doula practice to help pregnant and postpartum people feel comfortable in their bodies and minds before and after giving birth.

I am passionate about supporting those who have experienced trauma, as well as bicultural/bilingual (Spanish-speaking) families, and members of the LGBTQIA+ communities.
